2023 Kia Niro – HEV hybrid powertrain option 

The Niro HEV is powered by a 1.6 L 4-cylinder engine paired with a 32 kW permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, providing a combined maximum power output of 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. Advanced cooling, friction, and combustion technology ensure maximum fuel efficiency, with the Niro HEV returning 53 mpg combined (when equipped with 16-inch wheels) and a driving range of 588 miles. 

2023 Kia Niro – PHEV plug-in hybrid powertrain 

The Niro PHEV features the same 1.6 L engine as the HEV, paired with a more powerful 62 kW electric motor, providing a total system output of 180 hp and 195 pound-feet. The Niro PHEV, when fully charged, can travel up to 33 miles all-electric, achieving an EPA-rated 108 MPGe combined, a 25% improvement over the previous model. 

2023 Kia Niro – all-electric Niro EV powertrain 

The all-electric Niro EV is powered by a 64.8 kWh battery and a 150kW motor. The EPA-rated AER for the Niro EV is 253 miles, and the vehicle features an optional heat pump and battery warmer to preserve range in cold temperatures.
